This is a marvelous church, so understated yet perfect. We had a spiritual feel about the who'd experience and if you enjoy old churches, then this should not be missed.

The inside of the church is absolutely gorgeous and the ornate work on the dedication to the Miracle is beautiful. You can reach here by walking, driving or taking the tram up. The view from the top over looking nazare is breathtaking and there are...More

Amazing architecture and a hidden gem at the top of the mountain. Take the tram to the top and walk around the corner to the square. You can't miss it and will not regret making the short trip to the top.

I liked the story of this church and the black Madonna's statue that they have here. This statue were brought here from Nazareth- the hometown of Jesus, gave the name to this lovely town.

A church perched up on the top of the cliff, beautiful in its simplicity. Inside a fresque of azulejos sits beside images of Christ and gold ornements. A striking contrast that at first seems out of place, but speaks of the Portuguese identity and Catholocisme.

Despite lots of visitors, a peaceful and beautiful place to visit. Very pretty and obviously loved by local people as well as visitors
