What an amazing, historic place to visit. Plus a breathtaking view of the beautiful town of Antequera. We did the tour with a hand held phone, that takes you through the history of the fort. Well worth a visit. Lots of steps, so wear sensible shoes. Don't miss it, if you visit this town.

The story of the Moorish period and Christian reconquest of what is now Spain is fascinating. Touring the Alcazaba with an audio guide puts it into context although the signage needs some work to make it clearer. Great views

I had a good time visiting this place. The audio guide, though little bit slow, was quite interesting. The towers offer good views of the town. I was just little bit disappointed by the church which is included in the combined ticket.

Using the hand-held device, you get to hear about the history of the castle and church. Plus great view of Roman baths

As you approach Antequera from the motorway you cannot see the beauty of the city, it is only as you drive past it on your way to the Natural Park that all is revealed. We had a fabulous 2 days exploring the area, the Alcazaba is great, make sure you get the audio guide as otherwise it does not give... More

In 1582,a bell Tower was added to hold the biggest bell of the town. Walk the walls and climb the tower. Look at the mountain in the shape of an Indians face.

You'll do a good amount of walking to get a feel for the Alcazaba, but it's worth trekking around. We did not take the self-guided audio tour, and probably would have enjoyed it even more if we had. As a first antiquity stop during our Costa del Sol trip, it was lovely. I know it will be overshadowed by what... More

Fantastic audio-guide tour around the fortress with excellent views of Antequera and the wonderful scenery of hills. We parked for free just beyond the entrance in a large car park. Views from the wall and belltower are great and by the time we had visited the church around 90 minutes had elapsed. We had food and drink in the sunny... More

If you have a couple of hours to spare and want to walk off a few tapas or cervezas then take this very interesting step back in time. Be warned there are quite a few steps to climb to get to the Arco de los Gigantes and the entrance to the Alcazaba or fortress and indeed several more steep ones... More

Well worth visiting - but if you haven't researched the history you would benefit from having a guide. Was very interesting to see the Muslim and Christian influences in the architecture of the church. A tough steep walk uphill if you are not fit!!! But an easy walk back down! Lovely view of the town from this height.
