We must have walked or run past this arch 8 - 10 times during our week-long stay in Antequera, between the city center and the Parador. The streets leading up to it had pretty flowers planted making it a nice photo-op. Otherwise it is an object to walk by, look at, and take pictures of.

This eye catching structure in the middle of a roundabout (with town bullring to one side) is a replica of the original set of arches destroyed in 1931 with the advent of increased motorised traffic. The original was built on the Seville Road in 1749 (don’t think this was the spot) and the three arches were divided for horses and carriages through middle with pedestrians either side.
