Baeza is a marvelous world heritage site and this is the entrance to the old area, there are two doors and a nice fountain in the center of the square. Highly recommended to do a tour of baeza in English or Spanish.
Beautiful old square dating back to the mid 1500s, currently undergoing roadworks just below the double gated archway.
In amazing condition considering its age and close to the numerous other churches, squares etc all in very close proximity to each other and all dating back...More
This plaza is yet another Renaissance-era treasure in the historic centre of Baeza. The city is worth visiting even as a day trip from Jaen or Cordoba. It lacks the crowds of those cities and yet offers much greater architectural history.

We visited this Plaza with the fountain with the lions twice. Once at night when the walls are with lights and it looks mysterious place. Once again in the morning to see better the scultures of the fountain and the special walls.
Pretty square. The tourist office may tell you there is archeological museum 200m away - it's super tiny without English explanation and it charges €2 to enter. I considered it a ripoff as I spent less than 5 mins inside. Very low value.
