Found this good value after a disappointing visit to the Lynn mueseum, particularly liked the floor game with the ships picking up and exchanging cargo on their voyage and the restored gaol cells. The mueseum kept us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) informed and entertained for a about an hour and a half.

A nice hour or so walking round the stories of lynn. See the king john cup was something special. A bit of a maze finding the upstairs area but well worth a visit

I popped along to have a look at this lively museum out of interest last year. I was so captivated and inspired by my experience that I asked if I could volunteer and I am delighted to say that I am now a tour guide and delighted to be so. The museum is a tour of over 800 years of... More

Had an afternoon here with a group of friends. We all saw something to interest us. Our main intent was to see King John's gold cup, which we did. There were lots of artefact to view and the information pertaining to them was easy to read and understand, with audio transcripts and videos. As a bonus we went to the... More

A very rewarding experience. well organised, well staffed. Learned more about the social history in there in an hour than you could read in books. How a museum attraction should be run. Loved meeting the prisoner and learning about her life in prison and her relationship with her gaoler. Our child was not impressed with the bucket which she had... More

It is now refurbished and called the Tales of Lynn. There are some super objects on display, including the fabulous King John Cup, but the most atmospheric part is the old gaol section which brought to life with the use of video. There are a few things designed to keep the kids amused, such as clothes for dressing up and... More

Recently revamped and marketed as "Stories of Lynn", this museum perhaps should have studied what other museums (eg Gressenhall) are doing. It is perfectly well done but is perhaps a little dry for current tastes - certainly to appeal to the younger generation. We liked the Hanse game but information on the Hanse itself very sparse. If you go and... More

Decent little museum that gives a quick history of the area. The museum consists of mainly a single room display area followed by a quick tour of the prison area. Interesting and a quick simple attraction.
