Enjoy great days out at the seaside with the five star Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick.

In the Discovery Centre control the interactive live cameras to zoom in on the amazing local wildlife on the Firth of Forth islands including puffins, gannets and seals. The Bass Rock is the world’s largest Northern gannet colony and BBC Countryfile Magazine’s Nature Reserve of the Year and the Isle of May is the biggest puffin colony on the east coast of Britain.

There’s different wildlife to see throughout the year and at different stages of the breeding season.

Visitors can enjoy expert talks, 3D TV, fish tanks, Flyway Tunnel, Wildlife Theatre, Turtle and Ray Zone and a Scope Deck. There is also a Gift Shop, the Seabird Cafe which has East Lothian’s only seaside sundeck, plus a range of seasonal boat trips.

The Scottish Seabird Centre is open all year – only closed on Christmas Day.

We have been staying with our son in Musselbourgh and our friends have booked their caravan into a site nearby. The weather was really not brilliant and we decided to visit the Seabird Center with our friends. Having parked the car nearby we walked into the center and spent some time browsing around the shop where there is a plethora... More

Whenever we are in North Berwick we try to make it to the Scottish Seabird Centre. They have a little cafe that serves amazing scones you can eat on the patio if the weather is nice. It has the best view of the East Bay and their gift shop has well curated gifts from Scotland.

We stopped for tea and cakes. We had a delightful Amaretto Dark Chocolate and the Victorian Sponge cake. Definitely worth a stop for the views and cakes!

Was out for a drive and went down to North Berwick Harbour as it was a very windy day and wanted to see the big storm waves coming ashore. Really spectacular but chilly so went into Seabird Centre Cafe for shelter and a coffee. Was tempted by the Cullen Skink on the menu and it was delicious, great place to... More

The Scottish Seabird Centre is something different. The seabirds of the Firth of Forth are well recorded and winter is an ideal time for spotting over wintering rarities, when the weather is not conducive to boat trips. February is very early and the Gannets of Bass Rock have not as yet arrived, but that didn't worry us, hardy 'birders'. Being... More

We have been there on February, a Saturday afternoon. The place is very nice, on the beautiful sea of North Berwick. The seabird centre is at the harbour, very close to the city centre. We had a Groupon coupon and we visited the centre. The visit takes a couple of hours, including the 3d documentary about the Galapagos sealife. I... More

Got to admit had low expectations of this when my wife booked it but really enjoyed it. Very informative and staff really friendly. Plenty for kids to do,including a small ball pool. We will be back in the spring.

The Seabird Centre is a great place to visit for all the family. There are colourful displays, hands on features and live cams. The Scottish Seabird Centre is a great place to spend an afternoon. The discovery centre is a little expensive to enter, but if you take your time you will find loads to keep you and the kids entertained. The centre is educational but with enough fun not to make it dry or stuffy. The best time to visit depends on... More
