We visited here on a Bank Holiday, great mistake. The garden is lovely, the estate round the house makes for a delightful walk, the house is good, the stable block and the horses fascinating. The thing that lets the whole experience down is the catering....More

Beautiful parkland setting with walled fruit and flower garden and large formal garden at the back of the house with cleverly planted colourful beds. Rose-scented air in June. Ideal for long peaceful walks. The house is well worth a visit. Good cafes for refreshments, childen's...More

A great day out with the family. Plenty to see in the extensive gardens and house. A relaxed atmosphere for a picnic in the grounds. Nice coffee shop and a play area for those with younger children.

Lucky we had a warm day and could stroll around the gardens with out hurry. The house is beautiful, walked around it without being hassled by anyone. Friendly staff available around the house for any questions.

We’ve been here several times as we live nearby but I have to say the house and gardens here are noticeably better than other similar places in this region. Worth seeing.

Spectacular grounds with great views of the house, however the inside is barely accessable with most rooms closed off. Unable to take pictures of the inside except in a nursery and a coal room which means you miss out on the great hall, bedroom, chapel...More

Yes the main house is open for viewing certain months of the year (check their website). The nursery on the top floor is hands-on too.
