At the top of the hill in Coxwold is St Michaels church which is full of interest even for casual visitors like us. It was open and full of fascinating information especially about the 16th century tombs. Picturesque grave yard too !

A beautiful old church, positioned high above the main road through the village. The inside is very well preserved, and there are fantastically detailed carved monuments on the walls of the chancel, with an unusual curved communion rail in front of the altar.
