Wonderful National Trust property. Good parking, then walk to village centre. Plenty of places for coffee or lunch. Gift shops. Feels like stepping back in time, you can understand why it is used for film locations. The Abbey is so interesting and lovely walks around the gardens.

Lacock is a must for anyone interested in photography and just to see the window that featured in the World's first "proper" photograph is a thrill. The Village is lovely but it's on all the must see tourist lists so lots of coachloads wandering about. Not so many in the house cos you gotta pay if not members of the... More

We visited here with our family who live fairly locally. It is certainly worth a visit if you have membership, but it is not quite a five star attraction for me. The grounds are interesting to explore and the Abbey and house are beautiful...but it just lacked a little detail, which I have seen at other NT sites such as... More

As members of the National Trust we have have been meaning to visit Lacock ever since moving to Wiltshire. It is a lovely Abbey set in an idyllic old village. Some wonderful rooms with some fantastic architecture. A true treasure. As a fan of Robin of Sherwood and Wolf Hall it was interesting to see somewhere that had appeared in... More

The Abbey at Lacock is a wonderful National Trust building that is steeped in local history. There are beautiful gardens to walk around and even though the abbey is now just a shell, it is easy to imagine what it was once like.

Lacock Abbey, a beautiful building both inside and out. One of those places where you can really feel the history. Walking around the village is almost like stepping back in time; the buildings and roads are untouched by modern times, which is very unusual to see.

Two worlds collide... wow. Stunning little chocolate box village, with some cute little shops. Nice day out.

My boyfriend and me thought we would spend the afternoon in Lacock and as he never went into the Abbey we thought we just do it. The great hall, downstairs and the brewery from the 16th century were only open but it was fine. After a look through the Abbey we walked around the grounds. Definitely come back in the... More

Really enjoyed this visit. Lots of interesting things to see from different periods of history. Religous, social and scientific exhibitions and artefacts to see. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. You can spend a good half day in Lacock if you stay for lunch/dinner.
