This was our second visit in 2016 to this most unique property. Our first visit was with a group from our retirement club, and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to return with two friends to view the house with its Christmas decorations. On the first visit we were also able to stroll through the beautiful gardens with... More

Went on a tour of the house yesterday with a friend. It was conducted by the jocular master of the house and took in all 52 rooms over two and a half hours. The problem you will have is answering the question "What was it like?" We've already been asked this and found ourselves at a loss for words. You... More

A surprise round every corner. Excellent value including being shown around by the owner. Well worth another visit when the sun comes out in Spring.

Visited yesterday with a retirement club. I had heard a few things about it but still didn't really know what to expect. Well, what to say and where to start??!!! It was truly amazing!! All 52 rooms themed and decorated for Christmas! Loads of old and tasteful clutter displayed beautifully in this massive house! From the attic to the cellar... More

This is an amazing property to visit. The owner gave us an initial talk on the history of the house and how they renovated it. Then a tour guide gave us a tour of the whole house. The tour guide told us the history of each room and its collections - each room had a different type of Christmas tree... More

I looked on the Internet to see where we as a group was going. It was interesting, but the visit was far superior. What decor and ideas for dressing Christmas trees was way beyond my imagination. From the moment I landed and was greeted by Abby the Alsation dog, through the door, it was filled with the WOW factor. I... More

Wow. Went yesterday, reluctancy, after much nagging from my wife. The visit was incredible. I'm still trying to reflect on the detail and information imparted throughout the 2 1/2 tour conducted the owner, Paul. Hugely entertaining and informal, best summed up as a pleasant attack on the senses. Look on this as 6* National Trust, without the formality and crowds.... More

A wonderful place, all rooms decorated for Christmas. Paul was a very good speaker and explained everything very well. We had a lot of fun, it's such an amazing place and the number of items extraordinary. Can't recommend it enough for a great day. Looking forward to seeing the gardens in the Spring.
