A Manitoba Star Attraction! The Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre houses the largest collection of marine reptile fossils in Canada. If you like dinosaurs or sea monsters you will love "Bruce" our 43 ft (13 mtr) Mosasaur, the fiercest of all the marine reptiles. He's bigger than a T Rex and just as scary. It's because of him that the Cretaceous seas were considered the most dangerous of all time. In 2014 the Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized Bruce as the largest Mosasaur on display ANYWHERE! Join our staff on the beautiful Manitoba Escarpment in their search for Bruce's mother. All you have to do is register for one of our Fossil Dig Programs to begin your own outdoor fossil finding adventure.

This is an amazing display of pleisosaurs and mosasours and related fossils. The city of Morden is small but the experience is huge. It would be better if the museum/discovery centre was in a larger venue. There has been talk of having the museum at the digsite, but this really would make it difficult for visitors to find. The summer... More

I love the interaction the staff have with children. Great information. Great school trip. My only complaint is location. the Museum is in a basement and it feels like your in an old basement. If they had the exhibit upstairs with more lighting it would be nicer.

We really appreciate your feedback and agree - we are working hard to one day leave the basement and be in our own facility! More

A great place for anyone to visit who has any interest in dinosaurs or fossils. We took a guided tour and we learned a lot of interesting things. We also made a replica of Bruce's tooth which was a really fun experience. The employees are very nice and go above and beyond. We were part of a group tour and... More

This is kind of an interesting museum. it is in the basement of the recreation center in morden. the staff is friendly and the museum is cute... small but features some great fossil displays. although it is not very big, if you are in the area it is a nice place to check out. the rec center has an indoor... Who would have thought land-locked Manitoba would be the home to so many marine reptile fossils? A must see for anyone interested in fossils, palaeontology or the thrill of discovery. Excellent displays, very pleasant staff. Present site is probably too small (as others have mentioned), but the centre has done a fantastic job with the available space. Warning: Lots of... More

This great museum has so much potential if they had more funding. At present it is small, but with great displays. We learned lots of new stuff and plan to go back for one of the day tours (back rooms and dig sites!) ... Once my son is old enough. Even so, it was a great follow up museum to... More

I'm not really into Dinosaur stuff, but it was amazing and interesting what this place has. Kids especially would love it!

Our family - 2 adults and 1 child (6), on a raining day went to the discovery centre. It was our first time visiting the centre. Lots to learn about MANITOBA during the dinosaur age. Definitely educational for all ages. We did a self guided tour, lots to read and see. A must see attraction if you're in Morden.

My wife, her cousin and the cousin's two young daughters (11 and 7 years old) took a tour in the facility. The person at the front desk and the person that conducted the two-hour tour were very courteous and friendly. The ladies felt the tour was a little long but very informative. Note that the tour costs more than the... More

Although it is not large, it is full of information and fossils. It starts with the geology of the region to tell the story of the marine reptiles found fossilized in the area. It is wonderful, they have something for everyone. Once you go thru the main doors of the community center follow the signs to the museums.
