What can you say. I have waited 45 years to visit this island and it lived up to all I ever dreamed of. The site at Tongariki is for me the cream of the sites you visit, breathtaking.

This is the largest ceremonial site in Polynesia and has been wonderfully restored with 15 huge moai. Coming with an Explora guide, we learned immense amounts about the history and meaning of the site. It was so good we came to see it twice in the week we were here.

This was the most stunning site to me on Easter Island. The location right next to a ragged coast with waves lashing on the rocks, the huge Moai statues standing in a line on a platform looking away from the ocean, the setting right by a hill, all these things just add to the stark beauty of the setting.

This place is a must see when on Easter Island. It is the most iconic place and if you have ever seen a program about Easter Island or a postcard from there - you have seen this place. It is easily accessible by car and most tours on the Island goes here. Entrance is included in the park entry ticket... More

With 15 impressive moai, this is certainly a place in which you must and will stop during your tour. Facing east, many people like to watch the sun rising there among the moai.

Ahu Tongariki is probably the most known site of Rapa Nui, one of the first images that comes to your mind when you think of the island. But even if you know what you're going to see, once you are there you realize that any description, any word can really tell what it is. Ahu Tongariki... this incredible platform with... More

You can't just see one site without the other. Easter Island has an impressive history and the archeological remnants that were left behind are astonishing! Bring a good hat and lots of sunscreen. There aren't many trees in Easter Island for shade.

There is no doubt that this something you must see on Rapa Nui but first you must visit the nearby quarry to understand how the moai were constructed and to wonder at why so many statues were unfinished.

Moai were all restored in the 90s afer a Tsunami in 1960 destroyed the site. Very impressive and located next to the Quarry where 98% of all Moai were created. The quarry is a must visit to really see the scale and look at how they were carved out of the side of the volcano.
