We stayed at white grass ocean resort - and had our local driver pick us up from the front door. The drive to the volcano itself takes you through some bumpy terrain. Our driver took the time to stop at certain points to explain some of the local village life. Total drive time from white grass is around 1.5hrs, and... More

Unfortunately we were there in the wet season, and had limited opportunity to get to the top of the volcano due to rain (flooded streams, washed away tracks) and cloud cover. Still our host made every effort to get there, and we did get to see the volcano erupt (lava bombs); what was more impressive was feeling the volcano erupt... More

The drive to MtYasur was an adventure on its own. Our driver stopping at the first lookout for us to take photos, we then stopped on the ash plains and could hear the earth begin to breath. So very surreal, looked like something out of mad max. On arrival at the foot of Mt Yasur we were treated to a... More

Being able to stand on an active volcano was not something I ever imagined I'd have the opportunity to do, but I am tremendously glad I had the opportunity, and can't wait to come back!

Most definitely one of the best experiences we have ever had. To be able to be that close to an active volcano was surreal. A real highlight of our holiday

The experience of standing on an active volcano is surreal. Photos don't capture that smell. Or being covered in ash. Still. I'm more concerned that the local tour guide company does not provide any PPE to its staff who go in there three times a day almost everyday. And the staff have been requesting a mere mask for months without... More

I've being to many volcano's around the world but Yasur volcano was the most exiting. We had transfer with the local guides all the way to the top. We walked not longer then 5 min to the crater of Yasur. The eruptions were ones a minute with very load bang. Lava and rocks are flying up to 100m. We were... More

This trip to the Volcano should be on everybody's bucket list. Well worth the hour flight from Port Vila and the hour and a half drive to get there. Absolutely amazing and worth the $ 1000 AUD for two people cost. If you are going to Vanuatu you should definitely book this trip, you will not regret it.

We were planning a trip to Vanuatu and everything we read said that you have to go to Tanna and see Mt Yasur. It seemed that the only way to do it was to stay in expensive resorts or do a scenic flight which we couldn't afford on our budget holiday. But a lot of researching later we found Yasur... More
