The Eden on Earth

The most beautiful place I've seen in my life. To enjoy on a self drive safari with no people around you. And I would recommend the scenic flight over the Delta.

The Okavango is unique in nature. It's the largest inland delta in the world, situated in some of the driest climate on the planet. It's an oasis of water in the middle of the Kalahari, which attracts game for miles during the dry season. We explored this elaborate series of waterways by mokoro. While the landscapes are unique, this was... More

Absolutely wonderful trip. Extremely friendly small city with lots of donkeys and close proximity to the breath taking wildlife and nature views of the Okavango Delta.

I've been into the delta many times and it always takes my breath away. It is one of the most untouched places in the world, with little to none deforestation, where animals can still roam free. The diversity of the delta is superb. You can find anything from floodplains to mopane forests to papyrus-lined canals. You can also find hundreds... More

I’ve always loved the waters of the Delta in a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) or motorboat and camping on the various islands. every time when i go to the Okavango Delta there`s something new that i learn. I’ve had my fair share of EXTREMELY close wildlife encounters here too. Lodges in the Okavango Delta have friendly staff and management and... More

We did a canoe trip with a short hike and a lunch in the 'wilderness'. A wonderful experience of nature. Next day a flight over the delta. Overwhelming. The rain season hasn't started yet, so it was not as green as one would expect, still lot's of water arms and lagoons. Have to come again at some point to see... More

All the pictures show lots of water and a lush, green landscape. However we found that much of the delta is actually very dry with sandy, arid scrubland as its landscape. Around the rivers and lagoons it's quite lush, but that does not stretch far. Observed from the air on our several short-hop flights around the region made this very... More

Words will never do justice. This place is magnificent - an amazing experience. We did a scenic flight and sunset cruise and both were great. Nature lovers paradise!
