It is an unforgettable trip when we reached to Sentarum Lake in Kapuas Hulu Regency. We started our journey from the capital, Putussibau by road to Lanjak, a small village to meet the boat man who dare to take us there. After one hour on boat, we began to enter the interior part of Borneo exotic region that is dominated... More

We have conducted a truly pioneering expedition into a rarely visited area where the main attraction will be the... More

The lake is so huge that you feel that you cannot see its banks surrounding you thus making you feel as if your are in the middle of the ocean. The sunrise view in the morning is really stunning as the sun is rising with its bright rays shinning just above the lake water, a picture perfect scene indeed. (This... More

We traveled to Danau Sentarum from Sintang; about three hours by car to Semitau followed by an hour and a half by speedboat up the Kapaus River - the journey a great experience in its own right. Stayed two nights at the field station at Tekenang Hill. It being in the midst of the smoke haze and the dry season,... More

Deep in the Heart of Borneo conservation zone within Lake Sentarum National Park, in Meliau-on-Sentarum the only place to stay is the Meliau Longhouse, built on stilts in Dayak's traditional architecture. It consists of 28 apartments off a shared long corridor, and the owner of the apartments take turns in providing rooms, boats, long boats, speedboats in a communal rotation.... More

Very challenging indeed! It took me 2 days in and another 2 days to get back to Pontianak. I guess when you have more time than money to spent then you wouldn't mind taking the long way.. haha.. although more pleasant options are also available. But at the end, it worth every effort! The lake is so magical.. Stayed couple... More

Very challenging to go there. Tranquil at the heart of west kalimantan, don't expect a real accomodation there except you know somebodies around.
