A decent station, and knowing the sad state of most Malaysian train stations, this could have been a lot worse. Definitely could be better though and more than just "decent". Didn't hang around long enough to appreciate anything other than the covered walkway that's connected...More

Very disappointed and not on par at all from KL Sentral. Paid restrooms? Steep stairs. One lift. Father modernity gave up on sleepy Butterworth? The whole set-up feels like an after thought, incomplete thought, no thoughts even?!?

If you wanna cross the border to Thailand, take train to Padang Besar, get stamped, and continue to Hat Yai by diesel train.

Another modern train station ,the same as others from KL ,but a little tedious if you take the stairs ,no clear signs getting out but it's a void policy to follow the crowd

Be careful should you drive...one could get lost..at Butterworth terminal area...esp when one failed to look for the railway station...a long detour. Should you arrive by ferry...when you reach...walk to the right ramp...DO NOT WALK LEFT...by going down from the escalator...or steps..you will find yourself...More
