Unfortunately we visited shortly after the 2016 earthquakes so several places were either closed or not fully open for tourist whilst they assessed the damage or made repairs. Still great to see from the outside and you can even go and walk along what is...More

This sight is closed to public due to damage from an earthquake. Just past the gate on the left a trail leads to a small hill which a good view and photo spot.

Tallest temple in Bagan in white color, aged, only have 1 corridor, can not climb. Since you only have 1 corridor, not much to see and to do here after you completely walk around the corridor. But close to this temple, there is Shwe Gyu...More

Thatbyinnyu in my knowledge is the biggest temple in Bagan and architecture wise little different from others. I would say it's a blend of what Dhammayangyi and Ananda pagoda looks like but Thatbyinnyu certainly has its own charm. Like many other bigger temples of Bagan,...More

We were unable to enter the temple itself but it is impressive, very big, architecturally interesting and the surrounding buildings also add interest. So it is worth exploring the area around this very large temple.

The exterior of the temple is quite distinctive relative to the laundry list of other temples you'll see in Old Bagan. It seems to have Mughal and Ottoman influences. It's true that the interior is less visually outstanding than the exterior but if you are...More

Due to its height, you just cannot miss it. This is the largest temple with grand architecture adjacent to Ananda temple. It is better to visit before the sunset as its exterior architecture is also very attractive, and Bagan is pretty dark after the sunset.

This is the tallest temple in Bagan and it is hard not to notice it. It's architecture is impressive and beautiful. The interior of the temple is less impressive than its exterior.

The Old Bagan Archaeological Zone fascinated visitors with her innumerous pagodas and stupas lined along Bagan-Nyaung U Road and Anawrahta Road. The temple exploration was fun and intriguing even though the afternoon weather was bolting hot. I do not cycle in Singapore as the traffic...More

This 12th century temple is the highest in Bagan and it's really impressive. There isn't as much to see inside like at nearby Ananda Temple, but the structure itself is very majestic. It makes for some great photos both from a distance and up close.
