First off I booked the excursion from March 4, 2020 I received an email confirmation confirming my reservation then I got an email asking if I would be willing or could I change my reservation to March 3, 2020 and I agreed then I received the next day and email stating that my reservation has been canceled by mistake And I was being refunded for $177 so I decided to rebook since they said that it was an error I then proceeded to ask for March 3, 2020 due to the fact I had been contacted on my previous reservation and asked to switch to March 3 2020 I received confirmation that this had been approved and asked me to send them my room number I told him I would do that upon my arrival. We Get up early from our vacation to go sit in the lobby on March 3 for them not to show up I contacted Tripadvisor was on the phone with them for 45 minutes trying to get this handled. When I re-booked they had charge me over $20 more than the previous reservation. Ended up getting picked up March 4 even though I felt like canceling the excursion we had booked two buggies and me my husband and my two girls had to ride in one the brakes were bad they look like they’re about to fall apart the buggies them self definitely need a lot of work!! The tour was great I would give the tour a “10” he has a lot of doom buggy sitting there that are no longer functioning and it really doesn’t make sense why he doesn’t repair and fix the ones that he does have running the guy in the other buggy behind us every time he hit a speed bump and pushed in the clutch the buggy went dead so he struggled with that just saying I would not book this excursion again here I would do something else the ATVs or the other buggies that are offered

After a week in our all inclusive resort we were keen to see some of the real Dominicans and how they live outside of the confines and sanitised space of the complex. After studying the options and reviews we booked this tour and we were not disappointed. We corresponded with the owner Kurt and were picked up on the morning of our trip and after a short drive arrived at Kurt’s home and base. Following a short introduction and pep talk we were off? Driving the cars was quite easy once you get used to the stick shift and got familiar with brakes etc. Kurt was a great host and at each stop gave us many interesting and useful facts on the locality and people. We visited a school, local family home, rum, chocolate and cigar factories as well as a beach, horse riding farm and had a great meal along the way. All in all this Fun Buggy tour was a highlight of our trip? Hats off to Kurt a fantastic host and his mechanic Miguel who both made sure we stayed safe and saw as much of the scenery and local traditions as possible. Would highly recommend this tour and it is well worth a 5 star rating?

We were greeted promptly at our pick up time right at the hotel lobby. Enjoyed meeting a few other couples and Kurt being able to change from one language to another is quite impressive! We drove through the streets of Punta Cana, toured through a home and her grocery store, a school, had an amazing lunch, horseback riding, a beautiful beach stop and more! This was a well filled day that Kurt has planned down to a tee! We read in another review that the families hear the buggies and come running out to see if you have anything for them and they did! We bought candy with us and handed it out to the children in the school and right along the road. The kids LOVED it! The smile on their faces were priceless! I would def recommend bringing something if you can! If you are on the fence about this excursion, don’t be! Worth every penny.

The best excursion I've ever been on. Kurt takes you on rough terrain and the cities streets in the coolest buggy I've ever driven. You get to see punta cana through different eyes not just the resort. He is very knowledgeable about the beautiful island. From the start we took off from Kurt's house to a little store and rooster fighting exhibition after that there were multiple stops. Lunch at a local cigar factory where we ate looking at the mountains. A stop at Macau beach was great..clear blue waters! Then a chocolate factory and a rum factory right next to each other. If you go to punta cana YOU HAVE TO BOOK A FUN BUGGY TOUR! I am already planning my next trip back!

it's not a rooster fighting exhibition!!! It was just training with protective gloves, but today we stopped doing this also. rooster fights are officialy legal in the dominican republic , but we dont encourage this activity at all , thanks again for coming on the tour

This is our fifth trip with Kurt and his crew and we learn more each time we go. Kurt has great knowledge of the area and uses it to help people understand the culture and experiences that they go through. After driving on Dominican “roads” for 30 minutes you stop in a small village where Kurt explains what a colmador is and how people use it as a gathering spot. There is a tour of a home with an explanation of its set up. The owner is a very friendly and kind woman who greets you with a smile and hello. You’ll be taken to the back of the house to see the various fruit trees, the rooster house, and kitchen. There is another drive to horseback riding but looking at the countryside and having the chance to see how people live is very interesting. After horseback riding it’s all paved roads to a cigar shop and lunch. There is a tour of the shop and lunch is on the second floor of an open air building. The meal was delicious and consisted of pasta, rice, chicken, and bread. The drive to Macao Beach gets you through areas with schools (you will stop at a school and be invited in during the school year), shops, and people. Children will hear you coming and run out to the side of the road usually looking for candy or school supplies. Let Kurt know if you have something and he will stop for a moment so you can hand things out. As a side, Kurt raises money to help one school with maintenance and supplies. Please enjoy Macao Beach for as long as you can. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom even though you are a fair distance from the shore. The water is warm and even though there are many vendors all are friendly and if you do not wish to buy anything a simple no thank you works well. A large hotel is being built at this beach which will limit people getting to the beach easily if at all. The final stops are at a chocolate factory where you’ll have a chance to sample the various kinds of chocolate they make and a rum factory where different types of rum are made and sold.
