We did this hike. It was ok. Some ok views. Nothing spectacular didn't save any photos. It is better for exercise for local as than anything. Or camping for locals. Would never go again. Go to the other park I heard was much nicer

A half day visit should be sufficient unless you wanted to go on the longer hikes. Not many people were visiting when I was there. Trails were well marked.

An hour is really enough in this wee town .It is typical of the area but a bit touristy. There are lots of souvenirs stalls with local handcrafts at reasonable prices. The catherdral is a red corrugated iron building not much like any other cathedral...More

We booked an excellent private tour to Coyhaique and the surrounding region through TA's excursion company. After a bit of confusion as to where to meet (TIP: look outside the main port terminal where the cruise excursions all meet and look for your tour guide...More

We spent a half day walking in this reserve. The trail was billed as fairly flat but we gained well over a thousand feet in three to four miles. The trail was in excellent shape. It wound through southern beech rainforest. Our walk ended at...More

10 minute drive from Coyhaique, so good for a short outing. Too easy for the serious trekking crowd. Crazy red-tape system at the gate to enter the park (filling out forms in duplicate, for example). Seemed a little goofy and excessive. Pleasant place overall.

There is a nice central square with lovely roses. There is also a nice group of small stalls with handmade Chilean items. They make nice mementos and are reasonably priced. The drive there from the coast is interesting as you go from a very lush...More
