We're not sure that this was the trail we were on but if not we will surely walk this one next time we come by. Cedar falls was absolutely beautiful and I would love to come back again just to see it at its fullest!

Such an amazingly beautiful trail. We will be back. The first half of the hike on the way down is a bit grueling and honestly tough on the knees because it is rock stairs going pretty steeply down, but then it levels off to make...More

Easy to get to and clearly marked trail. The views and waterfall are amazing. Loved it! The walkways are well maintained and safe. We went to the overlook but you can actually walk all the way down to the bottom of the falls. It’s about...More

Very beautiful scenic trail to the waterfall and creek. We went after very heavy rainfall and the falls were absolutely amazing with all that water flowing. Be prepared for a pretty good hike back up. Take water and your camera and make a good time...More

This is a lovely, easily accessible trail (but not paved, so not wheelchair accessible). It's prettiest in spring when the leaves on the trees are green and recent rains make the waterfall lush. When I visited earlier this week, there had just been some heavy...More

Very rainy during our visit. There were flood warnings for the area. Made the hiking more difficult as many areas of the trail were water covered and some parts were unusable and you had to go around. The scenery is beautiful. Even in the rain....More

Best time to go, is after good rain or wet period of weather any time of the year except weekends. Nice weather and weekends makes this place too popular, thus the trail is crowded and the falls are cluttered with people. I enjoy nature and...More

This is my favorite trail at Petit Jean State Park. The elevation loss and gain is more substantial than most other trails at the park, so I would recommend good footwear and water. And don’t forget to bring your camera. The trail is beautiful and...More

Be warned, this trail is like climbing a half mile long stair case when coming back up the trail. It is one stone step after another on the way back up. If you have leg, knee, or hip problems, be warned.More

Thank you for the Cedar Falls Trail review. You are correct, the last half mile out of the canyon on the Cedar Falls Trail is basically a large natural and beautiful staircase. Hikers should be aware to be ready, be hydrated, pick the optimal parts...More
