I was really looking forward to this place and spending time with the kids. The ground was so hard you couldn't hardly dig in it. The website says they plow it daily but I know for a fact that land hadn't been plowed in weeks. Felt too much like working than enjoyment.

I heard about this place years ago and finally made time to visit with my two teenagers. Although I visited their website before we made this trip, I wasn't sure what to expect. We arrived about 10:00 a.m. and the place was already bustling with prospectors searching for diamonds. I was amazed to see literally hundreds of people carrying their... More

The kids loved it, a great place for them to run, my wife and I did the digging. A nice relaxing day out.

We weren't in the know, so the digging wasn't that fun. It was more fun at Coleman's which was hillier and had some nice tours/museum exhibits etc. All I could see was a vast expanse of dirt and lots of tired fortune hunters.

I've lived in Arkansas all of my life and just today made time two go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park. I have been to most of the state parks in this beautiful state and this one is just as great as the rest. I found some really cool stones and had a great time digging through the dirt... More

This activity isn't for people without patience. I read Tripadvisor reviews on everything and some how didn't read one for this. I saw this place on the Arkansas State Parks page while booking our camp site(Lake Ouachita SP) and thought it would be a fun activity for our family of 5 (3 kids - 12, 9 and 5). We had... More

Diamonds can be found here but we weren't that lucky. We did meet a young man that found a 1/2 carat white diamond. It was beautiful. I would recommend just getting close to the ground and looking with your own sharp eyes, no tools needed. It seems that's how most are found! Just a large plowed field, they said that... More

Kids had a ball! Highly recommend. Bring your own digging supplies to save money and they have picnic tables if you want to stay all day pack a chest. We found nothing to brag about but an adventure of memories!

This place was 35-45 minutes off the highway, but we decided to go for it since we didn't think we'd ever be this way again. We were there on a cool damp day...would have been ideal to have basically all old clothes and shoes on that would not be needed again on the trip. To do a good job here,... More

We detoured to stop here on the way to hot springs. Complete waste of our time. If like to lay in mud and search for pretty little rocks, this is the place for you. Also if you come bring a small bucket, shovel and a sieve because rental cost is VERY high.
