This is a must-see while in Newton County Arkansas. The epitome of "The Natural State", you drive up a dirt road for a handful of miles before you park. Apply some sunscreen and bug spray (though the trail is very shaded in spring) and hike...More

The hike out and back are worth it just for the photos. The trail out to the crag is very easy, but the return trip is harder because it's uphill. At just under 3 miles, allow a couple of hours to complete. I didn't see...More

Wonderful views from the crag after a short walk (30 mins each way) the walk is fairly easy although a bit rough underfoot so covered shoes are best.

Everyone seems to go to Hawksbill Crag when you visit the Buffalo River area. And, there is a good reason why. Tremendous view and incredibly beautiful. The hike to the viewing area is not difficult. But, wear good hiking shoes!

Great views from multiple locations; nice hike, not too strenuous and a nice little side cave and waterfall we weren't aware of until we started the hike. Road to get to trailhead pretty rough. Definitely worth the visit.

We've hiked Hawksbill Crag on our last 2 visits. It's a beautiful hike. I would consider it an easy hike. The best time to see the valley from Hawksbill is early morning to watch the mist assend into the heavens, or in the fall when...More

What a view! Definitely watch your step here. The hike out isn't bad, and there are plenty of chances to see our over the cliffs. Bring your camera for sure!
