Great hike, great reward.

Hiked in early in the morning with two kids (7&8). We took a little over 3 hours round trip but we stopped at a waterfall for 20 min, and again at the lookout for 30 min or so. If... read more

Hiked in early in the morning with two kids (7&8). We took a little over 3 hours round trip but we stopped at a waterfall for 20 min, and again at the lookout for 30 min or so. If we walked straight in and strait out, we could have easily done the round trip in under 2 hours. The road... More

My mistake, going midday on the warmest day of the year thus far... I had the idea to visit Whitaker Point along with all the locals in AR as well as all the tourists. For such a short trail I had never experienced this many people on a trail in my life ( and I'm an avid hiker). Luckily for... More

Loved the view from over the trees while standing on Hawksbill Crag! We happened upon it while hiking through the wilderness area, and WOW! What a view. Although my mom wouldn't stand out on it, I was more than willing to get out there for a picture. Truly incredible feeling to be standing out over the trees and seeing all... More

this is a must see attraction. I recommend you should go early because it tends to attract every non local in the area. Definitely worth your while.

The first 2 miles of the gravel road is an adventure, but Whitaker Point/Hawksbill Crag never disappoint. We've been in the spring, fall, and winter, and the scenery is always great. The hike is easy/moderate, and the destination is awesome. This is no place for unsupervised children or horseplay. Be careful!

This trail, which exist in the middle of no where was extremely hard to find despite a lot of research on directions. You read a lot about the off road 6 miles to the trail head which, yes, is rugged... can EASILY be done in a Honda Civic assuming dry grounds. (Our Honda Civic was a 2015 4 door Ex)... More

This trail is extremely popular, and rightfully so. It's not a particularly difficult hike, but it might be hard if you have health issues. The iconic crag that everyone takes pictures of is beautiful, but it's not the only sight to stop and see. There are other rock outcroppings and overlooks along the way, and they are generally less crowded.... More

We really loves this trip and used around 1,5 hrs on it. We would say that the hike is a moderate one and well rewarding. We didn't find the road up to be very rough, but parking is somewhat limited. Don't forget to bring your camera!

This is a great way to spend a couple of hours and get some good exercise while taking in great beauty, but I'll relay a few things I didn't know until I got there. 1. No cost to hike this trail as it's part of the national park. 2. The unpaved driving road to the trail is fairly rough. Signs... More
