All the hype about this and you will be disappointed. You walk in the dark with candlelight on the floor, when you get there all you hear is someone singing and someone playing a musical instrument because there is no lights, you get sweet tea...More

Only offered a couple of nights a week. If you happen to be in Petra on a night when it is offered you must do it! Petra by night is stunning! Walking into Petra with just candlelight is magical! Looking up at the stars through...More

It's Petra by night. By expecting just that and nothing more, you will have an amazing view on the treasury under a sky full of stars. The way down included at the treasury is lighted with 1500 candles. Petra by night is only on Monday,...More

The walk along the siq by candle is fun and the Treasury does look impressive lit up softly at night....but the music show is a bit lame and the unveiling of the tourist shops right opposite the Treasury jars the senses. All in all probably...More

The beauty of Petra by Night is not the show itself but the walk at night in the Sid. Try to avoid the crowd by getting in late or leaving early and enjoy the quiet time in the Sid.

I was very excited to see the Treasury at night and I think the event is a very good concept. However, if you come during the peak season then my suggestion is to avoid it. Simply because there is no limit to the number of...More

We visited on the night we arrived in Petra before we did the daytime visit and for us that is the best way to do it. Maybe if you had already visited Petra, it would not be so magical. The path is lit by candles...More

I apologize for the late response but you will certainly have to exit and pay to return. They are two separate events that both require payment to enter.

Yes, you can purchase just before, BUT what a tacky show. You will see nothing of Petra either on the walk in (in the dark over uneven, rough and sandy surfaces - 1.5 km). The Treasury will be lit only with candles placed... More

From the entrance to siq takes more or less half an hour by walk (one way). However, you can opt to ride via horse, donky or camel but with extra fee, and I guess very expensive. And yes, just stay at the usual pathway which... More
