You have to do this ....pictures and words are one thing ....walking this is another. Every turn and every sight is wonderful and then at the end ......The Treasury ! Wonderful!

Atmospheric walk down through the Siq was more exciting than we expected. Take your time to enjoy and observe.

Lots of stunning rock formations, colors and carvings in the canyon, Siq, leading up to Petra. A couple of toilets along the way. Interesting to see the carved water channels along the bottom. Walk to Petra is slightly downhill. Some areas of the walkway are not particularly smooth. Careful for the occasional chariot coming thru for those who don't want... More

The walk through the Siq was amazing. The walk was easy and there was lots to see along the way. We walked versus taking a carriage but there are a lot available for those that don't want to walk.

Just watch out for the camels, horses, donkeys & carts. Busy area leading to the Treasury. Not to be missed

Really beautiful stripes and colors in the rocks from rainfall. Apparently flash flooding can be a concern and 5 French tourists did die in the past so be careful

This is what Petra is all about. Not the Treasury, not the Monsatery or any of the other structures. I could just walk back and forth in the Siq and forget the rest of Petra. My favorite is the play of light at any time of the day and at every turn there is another wonderful gift of Nature. Is... More

Amazing to walk around a corner and what is behind and what is before is hidden from view. You can hear rather than see people and horse drawn carriages. You can be your own Indiana Jones
