We debated on taking the time to get to the monastery. Our guide suggested using a mule on the way up and walking down, which we did and highly recommend. You can't believe what you are seeing.

Unbelievably beautiful. The hike over about 850 steps takes about 35-50 minutes. The monastery is best to visit in the afternoon because of te sunlight.

It is worth the long walk up to it! I think it is nearly 900 steps up but what a fantastic view when you get there!

How much time do you have? I ran up in about 20 minutes, but it wasn't easy :) ... it all depends on your physical shape - your twins will not walk up there. it's easy to figure it out: if you don't feel tired by the time... More

I hate to disagree with Mr BobandSharon but using a donkey is not advisable up or down. It is very hard on the animals and it is not an easy ride because of the steep areas. If you are willing to take the time to go slowly... More
