Words fail to describe the ancient beauty of the towering red rock formations of Petra! When we walked through that narrow space below and between the rusty cliffs, we felt so small! Take your time and enjoy all nature has to offer here.

Jordan was one of the absolute highlights of our 3 month trip. Not only is it full of the most amazing places the people were easily the friendliest we came across. For such a small country it has soo much to offer. Ancient ruins, religious...More

The power of the place cannot be expressed with words. The movie “Indiana Jones” is closer to this but still the magnitude of the place is different when you are there. This I consider as “Must see” things in a life

We took a private guide. Waël was extremely informative and interesting as we walked the 700m into the site. Each step was a wonder of engineering to keep the community secure and profitable for almost 1000 years. Waël had us close our eyes just before...More

We paid 50 JOD for a guide for the main road, on the intro it said the tour was 2.5 hours and when they sold it to us they said it will be almost 3 hours and they gave me "the second best guide" (the...More

Petra was indeed AMAZING, up there with Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat. We took a tour through Arkia which was messily organised. Arkia doesn't provide much if any information except for a confirmation number. Fortunately we were able to contact someone at the airline who...More

We really enjoyed having the opportunity to visit Petra and see first-hand the monumental building that went on there thousands of years ago. It is amazing that the Western world has only experienced this magical city from the 19th century onward! The beautifully carved sandstone...More

It is awe inspiring how vast the whole Petra complex is. Beyond the Treasury and the Monastery, there is so much to see. And seeing it at different times of day bathed in different light is like seeing it for the first time.

If you want to stand out from the crowd and avoid one of those boring and slow guides, then go with Moaad! We met by chance in front of Petra entrance. I personally hate being a sheep and follow other people so one of the...More

I visited petra for the day with my wife, we really liked the place, the natural geological elements were the highlight for us, and we loved walking around at 6-30am. It's definitely worth waking up early for. By 9am, half of Jordan's equine population appears...More

Yes you can hire a horse drawn chariot to take u from the visitor centre to the treasury and back. It takes 2 people and the 'driver'. Not sure how much it should cost but you should haggle.

I used a tour group through Abraham Tours and gave the tour guide my passport when he asked for it. He handled all the arrangements to get through the border both ways. Going from Israel to Jordan was a total breeze, not... More
