This temple located on the back of the Matanga hill, need to walk some distance to reach it. After seen many things in Hampi we got bored like Oh come on!! How come they built like this and many times??

Achyutaraya temple complex is one of the amazing piece of architecture of its times. It is quite magnificent in its scale. It can be best viewed from the top on the way to Matanga hill and one can experience the grandiosity in one shot. Burnt sienna colour contrasting with the blue sky. It is very peaceful and quiet. Intricate carvings on... More

Guides, Travel books, Google or pictures of this Achyutraya Temple Complex cannot do justice to OTS ethereal aesthetics. History: built 1534 between Gandhamadana & Matanga hills. Located: behind the Monolithic Bull as also between this & Vijaya Viththala Temple. The best of all the temples- be it the Virupaksha/ Viththala/ Krishna/ Hazararama or Pattabhirama. Tips- from the car park walk... More

Achyutaraya Temple complex is one of the bigger temple complexes in Hampi. But this complex is not visible when you move around and so very few people actually visit the site and so you won't see the crowds like in Virupaksha and Vitthala Temple. It is very peaceful and quiet and you can take your time to see every detail.... More

Golds, burnt sienna, tawny beige. Blue blue sky. Achutaraya Temple lies just over the crest of the hill next to the Monolithic Bull. A security guard gingerly walks around in bare feet as his black socks dry in the sun. One couple strolls around. Two Indian couples carefully study the carvings that cover the outside of the temple, the pillars... More

We reached this complex by climbing over the hill from the Monolithic Bull - well worth the effort even on a steaming hot day. It's a bit out of the way so very few people there and not so much in the way of precision maintenance. Excellent temples and carvings

The Achutaraya Temple at Hampi is one the larger temple complexes such as the Vitthala, Krishna, Virupaksha, Pattabhirama etc. It is a bit difficult to get to mainly because of no obvious route but you can get to it via the route near the Monolithic Bull.

Achyutaraya temple complex is one of the 3 large temple complex of erstwhile Vijaynagara empire - the other 2 being the Vitthala Temple complex & Virupaksha temple complex. This also happenes to be the least cared for & least visited out of the 3 complexes. The reason for it being less visited than other 2 is because it has no... More
