Its easy to imagine why this palace was named as Jahaz Mahal even though currently there is no way you can see the reflection of the palace in the surrounding water bodies. A beautiful piece of Architecture. Climb up to one of the towers and you get great views of the entire complex which houses so many other architecturally rich... More

The late 15th century Jahaz Mahal (ship palace) is 120 metre long and 15 metre wide and situated between the two artificial lakes. It is an elegant two storied palace. It gives the appearance of a stately ship. The palace consists of three large halls with a beautiful bath at the northern end. Coloured tiles and stones are used for... More

It's a beautiful palace thousands of years old and Gov. has done good work in preserving it and not letting it go to ruins. There's not much inside, but the construction is definitely so sturdy and well played it's worth a visit

As the name suggests it is a boat shaped two storied palace(around 120 mts), built by Ghias-ud-din Khilji for his harem. The Mahal overlooks two artificial water tanks i.e. Kapur Talao(Camphor) and the Munj Talao. One can notice the magnificence of Afghan architecture and the palace is lined with beautiful balconies, pavilions and terraces.

Awesome is the right to describe this place. Rainy season is best time to visit Mandu. We enjoyed a lot our visit. But many people destroying the history for no reason by putting their name or other notes on such a precious monuments.

The place is neat and clean and plenty of restoration work is going on. It depicts a building built like a Ship surrounded on all sides with water bodies. Worth a visit with some local Guide to tell you all about it in detail. The palace and other buildings involve plenty of walking and climbing which old people and infirm... More

The architecture is really wonderful. Jahaj Mahal is well maintained. Garden is green. Pond is clean. Not suitable for senior citizens with leg/knee problems (like any other places in Mandu). My humble request to all the tourists is - do not throw any garbage or spit inside such nice historical places. Hindola Mahal is also inside this premises. Audio Guide... More

This group of monuments in Mandu are pretty interesting. The attractions are all grouped into various sectors depending on their location. This was definitely part of the best group. Do not forget to check out the old shop ruins at the further end of this group.
