This is a stunning gate right down near river,it was built in 1200 and was one of the most important works of the towns defence system with dungeons added in 1228 . Two huge statues guard the entrance these are known as the baker boys....More

A living piece of history right on the river - the main entrance to Andernach known as the Rhine Port or Corn Port is steeped in history and shows the flood levels the town has endured. Worth viewing on a walk around town.
