A lovely walk around the waterside, with views across the water taking in the tiny fortified islet of Bourtzi.

A seeming ghost town by day as night falls the tavernas lining the waterfront promenade become filled to capacity with Greeks out for a night on the town. The massive free parking area along the port makes it a convenient place to head for a...More

The waterfront promenade is indeed a great pleasure and the restaurants along the way seem relaxed and decently priced given their awesome views. The real pleasure here, however, is continuing along around the point past the lighthouse and out away from town. I went early...More

Beautiful! Lots of shopping, food, and even a grocery store to plan a picnic lunch. Behind a small restaurant right on the water there is a small man made swim area - with benches that make a nice spot to sit and read a book...More

Promenade with beautiful views over the sea, surrounding mountains and fortress. Gathering of yachts from all corners of the earth.

Start on the Promenade and continue on around the point beneath the castle for a lovely walk with great sea views all the way to the beach on the other side. Then you can walk back into the town. It is a lovely walk.

It is a perfect place to take a walk and watch the sunset, and if you can get a table at the bars or restaurants, it is the perfect place to have dinner or a drink.

We spent 3 nights in Nafplion and fell in love with the place. The old town is Venetian and the promenade is lovely. We walked all the way from the modern day harbor to the Palamidi Fortress, all along the sea.

Moored for one night while on a one-week sailing trip. Amazed not to find electricity and water services on offer, at such an attractive tourist destination. I must admit that we managed to get water after waiting for hours for a guy to come round...More
