I absolutely LOVED this excursion! We were in a rental car in April (off season). If you do this event, allow 3 hours minimum, leaving from the city of Pollença! From there, it took about 1.5 hours to ascend and park. The drive up is absolutely beautiful as it winds through the mountain. There are cyclists and goats to watch, and dodge. 😅 the parking/queue is HORRENDOUS, as there are VERY LIMITED parking places. I cannot imagine peak season here.
But the views were worth it. If you’re rushing, and lack patience (may not be great for kids) this drive will not be worth it. May be best to stop at the formentor beach access lot and turn around.
The food at the cafe at the top was sub-par, But better than nothing. Restroom at the top is advertised for customers only.

Fantastic morning out. The road is fully open and full of cyclists, please drive really carefully to ensure everyone enjoys this magical place. Cafe open too. Really busy.

We wanted to revisit this far northern lighthouse this year, but found the road closed close to Playa Formentor.
We were informed that during the high season (Jun-Aug) you can only park there and take the bus to the Cap. It makes sense as I remember from my previous visit, it was almost impossible to park up there at the end of the road.

After spending the day in Pollenca/Port de Pollenca we drove up to the lighthouse just in time for the sunset. The road is very treacherous with other drivers, sharp turns and tight lanes and not to mention the goats that come out of know where!
Once we arrived at the lighthouse the road was chaos with people trying to both park and leave so we parked at the bottom and walked up.
The lighthouse is cute and the views are beautiful as the sun sets behind the mountains. We stayed there until it went dark and most of the crowds had drove back and then set off slowly.

Took a drive to see the light house. Roads are closed during the day in the summer months, however we were there in September so was able to visit.
However, the suitability for cars at the light house is not great to say the least so arrive knowing it could be somewhat mayhem.
There are a good few stops for the views along the way also but again finding a space for your car will be the challenge.

The road is open to cars after the 15th Sept ( we had read other reviews about the road being closed after 10am but this is not the case), however it is very busy. We arrived just after 11am and managed to get one of the last car park spaces on the road and then after that the queues began.
Very windy at the lighthouse but worth the drive out, beware lots of cyclists on the road

The road to the lighthouse is closed from June 15 - September 15 to cars. You can only get there by tour bus or bicycle during that time. We were in Mallorca last week and ended up renting a jet ski in Port d'Alcúdia and riding around the coast until we got there. It was beautiful from below if crowded your buses aren’t your thing.

The road to the lighthouse is currently closed just after Formentor due to construction work at the Lighthouse
You can just about make it on a bike but you have to go through a lot of no entry barriers as many cyclists are doing at the moment,

The vistas are spectacular, but getting there is very sketchy with very curvy and dangerous road. Beware of bicyclists and wild goats. Limited to no facilities at the lighthouse.

Spectacular sea views and a bus ride that is not for the fainthearted. When you arrive at the lighthouse you are rewarded by fabulous views across to Menorca and vertiginous views straight down to the turquoise waters below. We were accompanied by my son in law on his bike and (astonishingly) he nearly beat us back to Pollanca port. The cafe at the phare is great.

Bonjour,
