Train to Soller

Interesting but expensive at 6€ a pop. There doesn't seem to be an obvious alternative. I visited the bus terminal in Port de Soller and the alternative seems to be the hourly bus to Palma. No obvious local service. Just enjoy it for the tourist trap it is.

Lovely quaint train from Palma to Soller. The scenery is beautiful. The train is not the most comfortable and gets very busy but it is worth it to see this part of the island. We only purchased tickets for the train and not for the tram down to Port Soller which was a shame as we found the walk down... More

We had a great day taking the train round trip from Palmer to Soller. We bought the Combination ticket that includes round trip train transportation and then round trip tram from Soller to the Port of Soller. Thanks to a prior Trip Advisor post, we knew to head to the front of the train for the First Class seats. There... More

The ride from Soller to Palma by this magnificent heritage train is wonderful. Takes about 45 minutes and runs through the mountain range and across the plain into Palma. If you get the opportunity try sitting in the first class compartment behind the locomotive where there are armchairs etc. A hidden secret!

History, scenery and the middle of the Island through the mountains. A totally different perspective compared to the normal Mallorcan views. A great day out that is incredible value (combined ticket for train and tram 30 EURO), An ancient train to trundle you through the streets of Palma, though mountain tunnels and woodland. Seats are comfortable and the back can... More

Pleasant trip to soller by train. very straightforward to get the ticket for 22 euros per adult at the train station......visited ecovinyassa when in Soller rather than go to the beach. Really lovely day out.

In the town train station, just off the charming downtown square, are some pleasant Picassos, mostly ceramics, and a stunning display of beautiful Miro paintings from his later Surrealist period. Don't miss this choice display if you're a Miro fan. But do skip the town's worthless modern art museum, which has nothing comparable and will make you pay to learn... More

Highly recommed this day trip. It's easy and nice way to little more of the island and it's so different on the mountains. Great views from the train and Port de Soller is beautiful seaside village. We had about three hours to spend in Soller/Port de Soller and that was too short time so I recommed reserving longer time to... More

We took bought a return combi-ticket for the train & tram on a Friday, mid-February, leaving Palma at 10:30 and returning from Soller at 17:00. The train ride took around 1 hour 20. When we arrived to buy our tickets in Palma just before 10:00, I was immediately put off by the large throng of people in the station already... More
