The charm of the streets
May 2018 • Friends
It was a real pleasure to stroll through medieval streets, encountering ancient mansions with noble facades bearing aristocratic coat of arms.Calle de Juan Infante is a main street which leads to the Merino Tower from the 14 th century on the left .Calle de las Lindas is one of the most attractive streets in Santillana. At the entrance of Calle de Juan is Parador de Turismo ,Gil Blas ,that occupies an old building that belonged to the Barreda-Bracho family .The parrador bears the name of the protagonist of Lesage 's famous novel ,Gil Blas de Santillana.

A walk back in time
Oct 2018 • Couples
See as many streets as you can in this conserved medieval city. But if you are short on time and just passing through be sure to visit this street which leads to the main plaza.
Lots of shops to get a souvenier of the visit

Picteresque street leading to Plaza Mayor

One of medieval streets of Santillana. Not sure why this one is on TripAdvisor as there are many photogenic streets like Calle Canton or Calle de las Lindas. Anyway Calle de Juan Infante is also nice.

Lovely place to visit
Jul 2018 • Family
A pedestrianized street in the beautiful town of Santillana del Mar, it is quite charming with cobbled street and beautiful buildings. There are some nice little shops and just wish we could have spent more time here. If travelling in this area it is certainly worth a visit.

This is a lovely street
Sep 2017 • Couples
The full title of my review should be "This is a lovely street despite the tourist shops", but that would be mean of me, as I realise that browsing in gift shops is part of the tourist ideal for many people.

To be honest, we even looked in a couple, but quickly came to the conclusion that they all pretty much sell the same stuff. All that said however - we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Good shops

The souvenirs available are of a very high quality. If nothing else buy a small ceramic tile that depicts Santillana.

Completely my kind of ambiance!
Jul 2017 • Family
In this small town, there are shops in every street and on every corner. They sell a lot of leather products like bags and wallets and many accessoires of all kinds. There is a traditional 'Sidreria' (El estanco) with tapas as well. One of best stops on our trip.
Do make sure you wear comfortable shoes because the streets are quite bumpy!

A place to shop and to enjoy
Jul 2016 • Couples
This street is quite popular, thanks to the many stores that sell leather, dresses, food, beverages and many more. This is the place to buy things. There are also restaurants and hotels on this famous street.

My wife and I were more fascinated to the leather goods. The Spanish leather is quite different compared to North American standards. I love how the Spanish make it so rustic!

All this happens in the old town, which is beautified by the many flowers everywhere and the old homes and stores that bring a romantic flare. The cobbled stone streets bring a nostalgic twist of the past. I love this town!

Magical Village, beautiful street
Sep 2016 • Couples
Santillana del Mar is absolutely beautiful and shouldn't be missed if you are anywhere close during your stay or journey through northern Spain. Calle de Juan Infante and all the streets in the village are full of charm and history, some of the shops are full of tourist stuff but many have lovely things as well. We were so glad we did not miss this special village, which seems frozen in time. If you are fortunate enough to spend the night here and enjoy the streets at night or at daybreak you are fortunate indeed!
