I decided to pop in here on a recent visit to Santillana del Mar. Probably would have been better to view it after lunch. A wee bit disturbing.

The evil ways humanity has devised to inflict pain and torture on one another is horrifying - the display of numerous weapons of torture with clear descriptions in multiple languages gave us all the chills and wary of not inviting any of these rituals into...More

Not your usual happy vacation adventure but you will see what people have been capable of in the name of their beliefs. Not to over sell the visit but it has impacted our lives.

We arrived at 1.30 pm at the museum only to find it closed. The schedule on the door claimed it is open until 2.00 pm. We asked a nearby shop tenant who confirmed it was supposed to be open. We had lunch close to the...More

This is a small museum which focuses entirely on instruments of torture used throughout Europe from medieval times onward. Small but interesting, amazing what we as humans can do to each other. Interesting to note some of these torture techniques and worse are still being practiced today

Came here while visiting this lovely old town, and it was a real eye opener. It is a very interesting and educational place, would recommend visiting, but may need a drink after to take your mind off some of the horrors.

Interesting, but shocking how humans can treat each other. If you're in town, worth an hour of your time.

If your into horror and gory movies like me. You'll love this tiny museum. It doesn't have a lot of stuff. But still very interesting. Definitely recommend going.

This museum was horrific. It would have been much more interesting to learn history rather than to just see how people are so in humane to one another. Had to leave before visiting the entire display. Would not take children there.
