This archaeological site has a little bit of everything. There's a wonderful necropolis area with innumerable sarcophagi. There's a well preserved triumphal arch. There are ruins of an aqueduct and a Roman road. The Hippodrome ruins are vast.

This is a wonderful site right by the sea. The variety of buildings is impressive, and it gives you a wonderful flavour of what Roman towns were like.

Impeccable on every level. Entry fee for Lebanese less than 2.2 dollars, 3,500 Lebanese Liras i have made the same review on hippodrome and tyre archelogical site its all in one place along the trail you walk. I was mesmerized by the beauty and preservation of history. Such a beautiful site and city.

6000 L and you step inside the ancient grounds of this great site and enjoy what is left of the once mighty empire. Very close to other interesting sites, this makes a nice break

This site is from an ancient Phoenician city although most of the ruins are from the Roman and Greek periods. We loved wandering through this nearly deserted site. People come back to Lebanon, it's so beautiful. We've lived in Beirut for two years and never had any problems in that dazzling city and Tyre reminds us of the Caribbean.

I visited Al Bass Archaeological site earlier this year to discover ruins of past generations. This place still held the spirit of ancient times, the tombs, columns, graveyard, tiny hamams(washrooms) were still holding the smell of old times. It was very fascinating to walk around, touch the stones, get connected. Highly recommended for explorers who are interested to discover more about past.

I had too high expectations, Tyre being one of the most famous ancient cities, but it was a nice place. There's lots of sarcophagi, some collumns, parts of a hippodrome, and this small gate, all close to the sea.

Great place where you can feel the roman finger print in the middle east even 2000 years later. Besides the hypodrome, dont miss the great cementry from the later roman empire with incredible examples of roman funerary sculpture. The hyprodorme still conserves the only Roman Arch of Triumph in Lebanon and one of the very few from the Middle East

There are a variety of arches, and in particular one huge arch, I think was dedicated to Apollo, but in any case, that it has remained through to today is amazing.
