This place is really worth checking out. It has all kind of history. The day we were there you could enter a least a half a dozen buildings. I enjoyed the courthouse and the hostel as well as the gun exhibit. We had a soda...More

We went here on a weekeday - almost no one else there, so we almost had it to ourselves. The staff were very friendly and helpful, in fact the only disadvantage was that not all exhibits were open. The highlights (as far as we were...More

Talk about a hidden gem!! This state park is extensive, covering several city blocks. It is a living history museum, which means the docents are dressed in period wear, and each structure has been preserved in its original state (furnishings included) from pre and post-Civil...More

In the many, many times I've visited Washington, Arkansas, I have never had a bad experience. One can wander about the area without being accosted by overbearing personnel or can sign up for a tour of the historic buildings. The Tavern is a fine place...More

This is a true town with a state park in the middle. From the blacksmith shop, candle shop, old post office/new post office all is so interesting. There are different homes and buildings open each day. Tours are available. Great for all ages

Picture a whole town that is a historical site, maybe not every building but a bunch of them. There are 2 restored court houses, a gun collection, nice old houses and basic log cabins, an inn (have lunch there), a very cool blacksmiths shop, old...More

I make a point of going when the attractions aren't open so that I can have the place to myself. I like wandering around the town looking at the houses and yards. It's just a different experience from taking the tour.
