I was fun to stop here, the history of it is cool as I'm into history especially if it's quirky! It made a nice motorcycle ride from Vegas too! If your passing by stop, also a great trip from Vegas to get out of Vegas!

Driving from Beverly Hills to Vegas we knew when we were close to Baker because of the thermometer!! It's really neat to see and standing under it you feel so tiny!

It was not so hot out. But the day was very bright, making it hard to see the numbers. I bet it is neat to see all light up at night, though. Don't go out of your way to see this, but if you are passing by it is worth getting off one exit and getting back on the next.

Every one likes to see this- and on hot days the gas station there sells lots of ice cream so this free attraction is a money maker for the local community -

Stopped in Baker for gas before entering Death Valley and had to take the time to see the giant thermometer! It's worth stopping. The temperature was 93 degrees in April; I can only imagine how hot it gets in the summer. It's sad that the motel and restaurant are closed, but there are a lot of photo opportunities here.

The most prominent feature in a tiny town of Baker, California—located a little more than 90 miles from Las Vegas via I-15 SOUTH—is this tall electric thermometer dubbed "The World's Tallest Thermometer". Built in 1991 by the Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO, which also built the landmark "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada" sign), the thermometer stands 134 feet tall... More

This thermometer has been here as long as I've been passing thru Baker. It's parent motel & restaurant has closed, but the thermometer lives on. It still works, kudos to whomever is maintaining it.

Well you will have to stop here because it's just far enough for a break. This little spot has grown over the years. You can buy alien jerky or stop at mad Greeks. Either way a must stop

A tourist attraction in a very small town. It was worth to see, and of course, get some selfies next to and feel super short. The staff in the gift shop were very helpful and friendly.

Only in USA could you find something as odd as this. Qwerky and weird but actually useful too. The rest of the town has nothing much to offer unless you need fast food, water or petrol.
