Less than a 30 minute walk up the hill behind the stadium is this amazing Botanical Garden. Take a few hours to visit. Follow the paths and explore the gardens, turn around and see the bay and the Golden Gate bridge. Very well maintained and amazing collection of plants from around the world. Definitely worth a visit.

Not as many flowers as I would have liked. My husband had a hard time walking around because most areas had no handrails on the stairs.

Confession of a Conflict of Interest! I have been a member of the UCBG for about 15 years. I visit it a lot. I support it financially. I recommend it to all visitors to Berkeley. And I take friends there whenever I can. So this is not a neutral, disinterested review. First, the setting and layout on a steep hillside... More

We go to the botanical gardens a few times each year. They are well maintained and have a wide selection of plants that are native to California as well as several obscure species from other parts of the world.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I did the self guided tour and really liked it! It took me about two hours. Don't miss the redwood grove; it's truly magical. The Japanese section is most impressive. I got to see the newts mating!! A must see visit if in Berkeley.

My band (your song my song)has played at the Redwood Grove and we love it. A magical setting on a terraced amphitheater in the woods. We also attended an awesome wedding at the Garden and loved walking through and gaping at all the unique plants.

The price of admission, amazing views and diverse plantlife make this hidden gem a must see. Definately carve out about four hours of your day to enjoy all that this park has to offer but be mindful that the parking isn't the most convenient. Morning or afternoon both offer spectacular views and the location of this park is close enough... More

first, the location is nice and geography of location is very nicely used & preserved while creating various sections of this garden. SO this looks very different than the "planned" gardens . There are sections dedicated to each continent and also some special sections like cactus and the "Tropical" climate zone. The garden has a nice stream going through it... More
