We stay at a near by hotel when we go to Berkeley. We relish our time at the Marina enjoying the slow pace, watching the birds and the boats, looking at the foliage. There is a small park for children and picnicking as well as...More

A nice place to cycle around. Nice Adventure Playground, for kids to build with real tools (and nails!). Local sailing club where one can learn to sail or windsurf/kiteboard. Nice picnic areas to chill out at.

The Berkeley Marina is a must see when visiting the East Bay. The wild waters of the SF bay crash the rip rap creating a poetry of movement, sound, smell, and touch. The view of the Bay, SF, the bridges and Marin County is spectacular.

The marina offers great views but when the wind comes off the bay, bring a sweater. They also have a nice restaurant at the marina.

I love taking grandchildren here to bike along the coastal path. You can grab a Clif Bar at the little sailing club's office, or you can detour to the Doubletree where the restaurant's patio connects with the Berkeley Marina pathway. There's nothing better than a...More

Yes, but...not everywhere. There are walkways all around the marina. You will not be able to go down to look at boats that are on private docks. There will be a locked gate at the top. But if you are staying at the hotel, or... More
