Not much to see here, but it's a good story, and a spot to stretch your legs en route to Borrego Springs. Would be interesting to visit on the first Saturday in April for the "Liar's Contest."

One of the stops on our visit to Anza-Borrego area historic landmarks. Many RVs clustered around the area, but all seemed friendly.

This monument memorializes a prospector who epitomized the old culture of the desert. He was known for telling tall tales of lost gold mines, and an annual liars' contest is held in his honor at the monument.

Came back to visit and found the rock pile getting higher . The mailbox log is still there and getting older. Walked around and little has changed.

In the winter I, and a number of other full-time RVers--we live and travel in our recreational vehicles all year--hang out at Pegleg's corner. It is on the edge of Anza-Borrego State park, but is privately owned. There are NO facilities--you provide for yourself, and...More
