I only had a couple hours to spare, but made this stop and I was sure glad I did. The trees are an amazing display of God's handiwork. The roads are very curvy getting to the park. I had fun driving them, but some might...More

So we have visited other groves before, like Muir Woods and some of the more northern parks that make up Redwoods National Park. These trees are always a wonder to behold...it just doesn't get old for us. This park did seem less crowded and touristy...More

First time visitors and we loved it. They change $10 parking and if you want to you can pay 25cents for a pamphlet to do the 30 minute trail walking tour.

The Ancient Redwood Groves are magnificent. Explore! Hike beyond the Sequoia Trail. We took the Meteor Loop! Go early to avoid the crowds. Take a picnic lunch... lots of secluded picnic spots. The rangers are helpful for recommendations!

Depending on the time you arrive in San Francisco, you'll have about a two hour drive to get to Big Basin over some mountainous routes. If you're used to mountainous driving, it shouldn't be much of a problem but if you... More
