Excellent attraction and value for money. Birds, butterflies, snakes, iguanas, lizards and even guinea pigs. Small shop and drinks station. Would recommend for a couple of hours.

The key to this is that you must go early when there are lots of butterflies around, there tend to be fewer and fewer as the day goes on. They are all beautiful and I also enjoyed the iguanas, parrots and other birds. Worth a visit.

Thank you Sammi, We care for over 700 animals here, so it is awesome that you enjoyed the iguanas and birds as well. We have come a very long way from being a butterfly enclosure to a full on zoo that takes in animals that have nowhere else to go. Hope to see you again soon! More

While it was educational and there were some interesting things to see, it felt a bit run down and it would have been nice to have a tour guide or someone to make it a bit more interesting or more information to read. The smell from the food for the animals for a pregnant woman was quite strong! The entrance... More

We had a very pleasant experience today. The interior is very interesting and appealing. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through so many little critters. Our child especially loved having the butterflies around her, but here I would agree with a previous poster. There are what looks like hundreds of beautiful butterflies pinned up in display cases but very few actual specimens... More

We visited Butterfly World with our 2 year old son. It was easy to find and there was lots of parking. The entrance fee was a bit expensive but at our son could enter for free. Great place to for photographers…my husband spent the full 2 hours of our visit taking photos of the different butterflies. The butterflies only kept... More

Thank you for this honest review. Well done for bringing the little one. Even if their attention spans are short, they retain a massive amount of information, but more importantly, they remember how they felt, seeing and experiencing the different creatures and lush gardens. It is never too early to introduce children to the amazing variety of creatures and plants... More

On our recent trip to Cape Town we decided to spend some time at Butterfly World as this came highly recommended. It was a really interesting experience and what is offered is really unique. We was a little disappointed as the "amount" of butterflies on display is not as big as anticipated. The "But" in my heading comes in with... More

We took our kids out for a few hours, and we are so impressed with the place. It want just about butterfly's but other animals as well as rescuing animals. It is such an amazing place for any one who loves kids. There is a restaurant on the premises as well. We even sat in the garden under the tree.... More

We have been visiting Butterfly World for the last 3 years regularly. We got an annual family pass which benefited our family outings alot as the kids always have something new to explore and to investigate at Butterfly World!! As the kids grow up they enjoyed the educational center the most!! All their questions got answered which are a bonus... More

As with most attractions during the December holidays, it is best to arrive early shortly after opening. We arrived at 10:00am and found it uncomfortably busy. The complex is large and divided into areas featuring lizards, snakes, spiders, birds and butterflies. We only saw a few butterflies, but those that we did are stunning with amazing colors. The spider display... More

Worth visiting. Interesting exhibits and large "aviaries" with butterflies, birds and reptiles. A slow amble through Butterfly World reveals many fascinating gems. The Restaurant has only the bare minimum of goodies.
