I have been hiking here for I think 15 years. I have come here when I don't feel well, when I feel great and when I just don't want to feel anything. There are various trails here. I always take the easy ones. My muchbetterinshapethanI friends have posted pictures of the harder trails and it is beautiful. Be aware that... More

Close to home and not too popular during the week. Several trails to choose from. Easy flat trails or the more strenuous Round Valley Trail. Be sure to take water with you and watch for snakes.

Round Valley is a hidden gem near Brentwood. The main trail is mostly nice and wide. The trail is flat with a few hilly sections. Most people shouldn't have any trouble walking on the main trail. You can take an all terrain stroller (jogging stroller) on the trail but not a regular stroller. Some parts of the trail is uneven... More

There are a few trails and some old ruins of a stone building. Plenty of open space for short hikes and picnics but not much else to do. You may find yourself wishing there was more to do compared to other regional parks in the area.

I love this park during the spring, fall and winter if it is not raining. It has several trails to choose from and is beautiful. If you go make sure you pack water and drink plenty of it. Hike early in the morning if you decide to go during the summer or late spring.

Sunday morning walk in the preserve was so nice. A lot of families out and about. Take water with you but, take empty bottles our of the park. Do not stray off the paths. There are loose cattle and as the days warm up there will be rattlesnakes.

Nice park, close to home, went walking there once, the vista is very pretty, walking between hills and meadows. Will be part of my regular place to go and walk

A great place to see all kinds of birds. Raptors around almost everytime we come. Eagles, hawks, and many other kids of birds. We saw red tail hawks do their mating flights, golden eagles soaring, bunches of wood peckers, falcons gliding. Two big loops from the parking lot. The left one is hilly, the right one is rolling hills.

If you live in the delta area or are just visiting, this is a nice place for a hike. Nothing strenuous, but plenty of room to roam. It's kind of out in the country.

If you're from East Contra Costa, then you already know this, however if you're visiting... Round Valley is best in the Spring, the hills are green, the trails aren't destroyed by the cattle and it's not 100 degrees in the shade like it is come June thru September. Have a snake bit kit handy if hiking from May thru Nov,... More
