My friend and I decided to visit on a whim and lucky for us we arrived just before the tour with Danny started. He was so great - knowledgable and interesting. He clearly loves what he does and we benefitted from his experience. We learned...More

OK, we have never seen a petrified forest, we just don't get them in the UK, so we thought we would pay a visit. You get a map and the trail is about a mile long. You see some trees that were covered in volcanic...More

We found this place by accident when driving to Napa, so we had no prior knowledge. At first we were put off by the high entrance charge, but decided to go in mainly out of curiosity. The area was forested until 3.4m years ago until...More

This is a private attraction that charges admission. There are a couple of petrified trees that are have fallen down and a long walk to nowhere to see what might be a volcano on the horizon. If you have something else to do do it

Go! It was 2 hours of interesting and informative chat whilst seeing the millions of years old trees. The tour was conducted in a light hearted manner with a great guy. Well worth $14!

Glad we went, no need to go twice unless you are a geologist. It was a fascinating view of some huge petrified redwoods. They did some extensive work years ago uncovering massive fallen trees. I think it could use a bit of updating but you...More

A visit to the petrified forest is a very unusual experience. Most of the "wood" has been left in place and at first look one wouldn't know that it's been petrified. But when you realize that it is, it's quite startling. The forest can be...More

We visited this site and were impressed with what it had to offer. It was priced just right and allowed for a leisure stroll around a path that displayed many petrified trees with signs explaining the process and other valuable information. The Gift shop is...More
