We did the 1 mile loop, easy trail with minimal uphill, very few people out & there was petrified wood everywhere for you to touch! Can't wait to go back!!

We went there not expecting to much. We were greeted by the owner manager. We toured the gift shop first. There were so many interesting gifts at reasonable prices. The two ladies working there , perhaps the owners, not sure , were so friendly and knowledgable. We paid $12 each to walk on the property. It was so very worth... More

I have never seen the like of this before. There is a scenic drive with lots of places to stop and get out and look. The crystalised trees are amazing. There are facilities at the visitors centre and further toilet stops in the park. You definately need to get out of the car at some of the stops to get... More

This is a great place to go with kids. It's educational and they can burn off some energy on the very easy trails. The gift shop is also great in that there are really reasonably priced things the kids can buy themselves if they want like a rock bracelet or meteorite necklace.

It was a nice walk if it's a nice day out. It's interesting to see, but you definitely don't need a lot of time here.

After subjecting our son (too young to sample Napa 's wonderful wines) to some vineyard tours, we thought it only fair that we spend time engaged in an activity in which he could fully participate. We were rewarded by an experience that was interesting for both those above and those below drinking age. We had an engaging guide who --... More

Seeing the remains of a 3.4 million year old tree is fairly impressive . For real insight organise around the docent tour the guide was a charming Englishman and filled us in on all the local history regarding the founder, Charlie Evans and this amazing discovery. Find out more about ash fall and how these old redwoods were preserved. The... More

We found the visit very interesting. It could also be because we were there out of season, and so practically had the park to ourselves. There were only three of us following our (very good) guide Rachel. The experience might be different with a crowd. We were lucky to enjoy a quiet and beautiful environment. And we learned a lot.

The petrified wood is very cool. Exploring this over 3 million year-old event with your kids is a good learning opportunity. The trails are well made, although not all are wheelchair accessible. We could not do the extra hike out to the view because of time constraints, unfortunately. The shop is full of really cool rocks, gems, minerals - little... More

Actually not much to see. They do provide a tour guide to give information as to what you are looking it. You can do this in 30 minutes. Not worth the admission. A true tourist trap
