Like its more famous Yellowstone counterpart, this Napa Valley geyser erupts at regular intervals - every forty minutes, in the case of the Calistoga gusher.

There are 3 of these in the world. New Zealand, Wyoming and here. Predictable and on time....it is earth at work spewing her built- up steam. A tad expensive and out of the way, but to see Mother Earth at work, well, not much more...More

This can be a touristy "thing" unless you take advantage of their all day entrance fee. The geyser is the draw and it spouts often. There are umbrella seats all around the geyser making it a relaxing time to sit and enjoy your time. I...More

After a day of stuffy wine tastings, my husband and I visited Old Faithful. It's a fairly humble and unpretentious place, with lots of fun & free activities. You pay your admission fee, and then you can stay as long as you want and use...More

Neat geyser, but certainly a tourist only thing. Fenced in and pretty, but looks like the petting zoo from when you were a kid. When we were there the geyser was very active and that was nice

We stopped at the Geyser after reading about it in the Rough Guide. Although interesting it is underwhelming and probably will only occupy 30 minutes of your time at best for $14 (ish). On the day we visited the Geyser was spouting every 5 -...More

Visited with my husband and two daughters, ages 18 & 22. The grounds were meticulously maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed the geyser. The goats were fun to feed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was my daughter was disappointed that none of...More

We visit Calistoga a lot. There were many times in our childhood we've wanted to check out Old Faithful, but never wanted to pay the fee to get in. Then, a few years ago we did and went in. Then it was like, "that's it"??...More

We saw the Geyser "shooting up" while on a bike ride. We diverted the ride to go see the geyser. If your children have not seen a Geyser yet or not been to Yellowstone, this is a decent introduction to the marvels of nature and...More
