Up until 5:00 it's open for you to visit the place where Jesus delivered his famous Sermon on the Mount. After 5, it's a resort with a very quiet atmosphere. The grounds are a fantastic garden with the battitudes on cut stones around the place. There is a very special feeling being there. It's not cheesy. It's classy.

Another site for the pilgrims trail. Found the church and site very restful, peaceful and quiet. Well worth a visit.

We arrived after the church closed so we drove around back and watched Tiberias light up as we read Jesus' sermon. It was pretty amazing. The grounds around the chapel seemed nice but we were very happy with our visit just outside the grounds.

The chapel, beautiful and small, encourages visitors to spend more of their visit outside. The gardens and the view from the top of the hill are picturesque. On my third visit to this place, the grounds were closed (we were there around 1 p.m.), so instead of going inside, our group planted ourselves on the side of the hillside with... More

The church has a nice view and the inside might be less significant than other churches that you might go (on Holyland tour), but the chance of you can do a prayer is better here.

As you approach the front gate you can avoid paying to visit inside the gates by turning right. Go down and park at the equipment shop. Walk down to view the sight. Save your money.

This place has particular importance because - in a certain sense- the Jesus' sermon here changed the history. Until that time person's fortune was thought to be the reflection of that persons worth. If you sick, deformed, touched by tragic events in your life, running out of luck - it was your fault, you must have deserved it and you... More

Went to a grassy patch on the slope which is near to a banana plantation. We had someone walk up the slope while the rest remain at the base. Those at the bottom were able to hear clearly what is being shared from up the slope. After which we took a walk through the banana plantation, not recommended if it... More

The chapel was well-designed with large windows to highlight the grounds and gardens, a reminder that when Jesus spoke the building did not exist. But, even with the presence of the chapel, one can easily imagine Jesus giving his revolutionary talk and his commands echoing in the valley. Our guide reminded us that at that time it was common Jewish... More
