Incredibly talented people that have created some amazing miniature replicas of trains, planes, automobiles, doll houses, and many other items. We have been there 3 times and each time we find things that we didn't see before.

The skill and artistry on display in the museum is astounding...miniature engines, miniature automobiles, doll houses, model airplanes and boats, and much more. Craftsmen and hobbyists are available to answer questions and share their enthusiasm. You can watch them working in the very well equipped model workshop.

Local friends took us to this museum, and we loved it! The guides are super friendly and the displays are just amazing. You could spend a few minutes or several hours here, just wondering how these things were made, and how they all work at such a small size. But be sure to take the free tour. BTW, this whole... This was a place we just stumbled upon as the result of a search of visiting Carlsbad, and we've often found that the small local museums are often charming and present an interesting history of the area. It was fascinating and the volunteers had apparently mostly worked as metal workers and precision machinists and tool-and-die operators in the area. They... More

They have a working shop where you can see some of the machine work being done. I travel from BC Canada every year just to see their new goodies !! A fabulous museum set... More

We got to see demonstrations of some items, and were also treated to a small group demonstration of various working scale engines. A friend told us about his museum and we dropped in to check it out. Way beyond my wildest dreams. The precision and workmanship in the tiny (working) replicas are incredible. Only open Tuesday through Saturday they hold demonstrations of some of the working engines at 10 AM, Noon and 2 PM. A must see as they have a master... More
