This nearly five-mile stretch of beach is popular with families but also draws surfers and skin divers to the water and runners and cyclists to the boulevard bordering the beach.

Carlsbad State Beach is a lovely beach area to watch the surfers surf or the kids playing in the sand and ocean.

Beach is kept clean and is location is great as there is lots of parking available right by the beach and if that is full there is lots of parking available within walking distance. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. All you need to...More

This was a nice beach, but we were unaware of the annual June Gloom, which was in full swing when we were there. It was windy, chilly, and gray, so we needed zipped up hoodies. No way we could have gone swimming! However, the few...More

Family and I visited the beach. It's a beautiful beach at the end of the city. Very close to restaurants. Hard to find parking. You have to walk down steps to get to the beach. We stayed till sunset. It's probably the most beautiful sunset...More

The beach is small, and the sand is a bit dirty (although there was a volunteer helping to clean up the trash). Just pick the adjointed beach, which is a few mins away. There's a life guard and biger amd cleaner.

Very nice beach to stroll along the seashore. Quiet and serene, but not desolate. Several surfers. Pleasant atmosphere

Really nice Beach. Love how it has lots of sand and is not all rocky. The downfall is that there is a lot of trash! I spent a few days picking it up and cannot believe how many bags of trash I had! Very sad!!

Not great, not bad. Has a parking lot, but fills up quickly. Lifeguards are at this beach, but not full time in winter if you go south of jetty. The water is cold, especially this time of year (Nov.).
