Kinda like a small Carmel without the lousy weather. Great expansive beaches, restaurants and motels. Go to the Coyote grill for beer and live outdoor music.

We had a great time visiting Carlsbad Village during Spring Break. Found a great place for lunch and spent the day shopping and playing at the beach. It was easy to find parking with shops, restaurants, and beach close by. The restaurant had a code to validate our parking so that it was free! Can't beat that! Beach was clean... More

Really quaint. Lots of great restaurants and shops. Train station right in town. Beach is wide and lovely just a block from all the activity.

Nice cool beach fresh air. Walking and playing in the sand for the kids. Just right atmosphere for a walk around the neighborhood. Fantastic ocean view and sunset and felt really safe in the area.

Carlsbad Village is a nice area with shops and restaurants. We walked around Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, very busy both times (seems to be a happening place).

Carlsbad has done a nice job planning and maintaining the Village. It probably offers your best choice for a Southern California seaside stop that still has mid century charm. Shops and restaurants offer a wide variety of choice. Parking is ample and the main streets paralleling the coastal train tracks are very walkable
