The first house built in Carlsbad in 1886, the Shipley/Magee House, stands at its original location in this park near the ocean. It is operated by the Carlsbad Historical Society and is free to tour. The house is open until 3 PM and tours are given by docents. I had an interesting one hour tour by Herman, who is a... More

The local parks are a great deal and this one had a Hall that holds up to 60 people including tables and chairs, and a smaller meeting room also including a couple of tables and lots of chairs; the bridal girls used to get dressed. Beautiful gazebo with rose garden behind it and rented the next door church parking lot... More

Maggie park is a good location for a rendezvous with friends before heading to the beach or going to the village. There are public restrooms and parking in the area.

The history of Carlsbad's beginnings is a staple of Magee Park. Got married in the rose garden at Magee Park...soon after it had gotten improvements in the late 70's. We love Carlsbad!

Nice scenic little park in Carlsbad. Great setting for a wedding we attended, or just to visit and relax on the grounds. Good for kids or adults and convenient to other local attractions and eateries.
